Keflex is an antibiotic used for killing a number of bacterial diseases, including pneumonia and other respiratory infections, and infections of the bones, skin, ears, reproductive organs, and urinary tract. It belongs to a class of drugs called cephalosporins, which work by interfering with formation of bacterial cell walls. It is ineffective against viral infections and should not be used for anything other than susceptible bacterial attacks. Overuse of Keflex or any other antibiotic will result in resistant bacteria.
