Terazosin–Information, Dosage, Cost Without Insurance

February 26, 2021

Terazosin (Hytrin) blocks the actions of adrenaline on muscles in the arteries and prostate. This relaxes the arteries, thereby lowering the blood pressure. Treating high blood pressure lowers the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and kidney disease. This medication also relaxes the prostate, stopping symptoms of benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH), or enlarged prostate. When the prostate becomes enlarged it partially shuts the urethra, making it difficult for the patient to urinate. When the enlarged prostate relaxes the urethra can open to normal diameter, allowing for normal urinary flow.
