Questions About Doctor’s Notes
How much does it cost to get a doctor's note?
Each QuickMD consultation only costs $75, which includes the doctor’s note (when deemed medically appropriate). Should the doctor be unable to help you, you pay nothing and we will refund the cost of your visit.
Will my school or university accept the doctor's note?
Telemedicine is considered an integral part of our healthcare system and just like during a regular in-person doctor’s visit, our US licensed doctor’s are able to provide you with an official doctor’s note (when medically appropriate), which is equivalent to a doctor’s note obtained in an office-setting or by your primary care doctor. In other words you will be provided with an official doctor’s note by on of our providers. Your school or university is able to verify the doctor’s note with us, but we are not allowed to discuss details about your medical history with them without your approval.
The document will be provided to you by email, but can also be directly faxed to your school/university if this is requested by you.
How long will it take until I receive the doctor's note?
You will receive the doctor’s note by email within minutes after your consultation with QuickMD. If needed, it may be faxed directly to your employer or school.
How many days can I excused for with a QuickMD doctor's note?
Generally we can provide doctor’s notes for absences lasting up to several days. We may also be able to provide a note to delay a semester due to significant illness. We also provide return-to-school notes to clear you for work, when it is safe to do so.
Notes are only provided when medically appropriate to do so. If the provider cannot help you with your request, your visit will be refunded.
Note that we cannot help with disability forms.
Will this be confidential and private?
Yes, all consultations are 100% confidential. Additionally, our platform is encrypted and fully HIPAA-compliant. If you agree to communication by email for additional information, please note that emails are not always secure.
Can I use my insurance?
Yes, you can submit your encounter summary to your insurance and in many cases get reimbursed, and all you pay is your co-pay. Just log into your account and download the encounter summary.
