Medications Prone To Abuse

Most controlled medications are prone to abuse, however we do not prescribe controlled medications other than  

  • buprenorphine (schedule III)  
  • Gabapentin which is controlled in just 6 states: AL, KY, ND, TN, VA, and WV. 

Other non-controlled medications that are prone to abuse or diversion are: promethazine (cough syrup, even without codeine it is being abused), Sertraline (Zoloft),
