Glucotrol

Terazosin (Hytrin) blocks the actions of adrenaline on muscles in the arteries and prostate. This action relaxes the arteries, thereby lowering blood pressure. Treating high blood pressure reduces the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and kidney disease.

Terazosin also relaxes the prostate, alleviating symptoms of benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) or enlarged prostate. An enlarged prostate can partially shut the urethra, making urination difficult. Relaxing the prostate allows the urethra to open to its normal diameter, permitting normal urinary flow.

Dose of Terazosin

Terazosin is available in tablet or capsule form. The usual dose is 2 to 10mg per day.

Common Side Effects

  • Fatigue
  • Nausea
  • Weakness

Cost of Terazosin

The price of terazosin ranges from $19.00 to $43.00 for a bottle of 90 capsules, strength 5mg, with a coupon. To find the least expensive pharmacy that sells Hytrin near you and to download a coupon, click here.
